Livigno Tourist Tax for Skiers: What You’ll Pay and How It Works
Skiing in Livigno? As of 1 July 2025, tourists are required to pay a small tourist tax for every night you stay in the resort.
It’s a small additional charge, but is often charged separately at your accommodation, so it’s worth knowing before you arrive.
The short version:
- The tax is charged per person, per night, and the rate depends on the type of accommodation.
- Rates currently run from about €1.50 to €4.00 per person per night.
- It is capped at 7 nights per stay.
- Children under 16 do not pay.
- It is paid in cash upon arrival, so it is important to have that money with you.

Bed and Breakfast Hotels: €2 per person per night.
3* Hotels: €2.50 per person per night
4* Hotels: €3.50 per person per night.
The tax is charged for a maximum of 7 nights per stay.
Who pays the tax, and who is exempt?
Everyone aged 16 and over pays. The following are exempt:
- Residents of Livigno
- Children under 16 (until their 16th birthday)
- One companion per patient for people accompanying someone in hospital in Livigno
- Police, healthcare staff and civil protection workers staying for work or an emergency
- People with certain disabilities, plus one companion each
- Guests staying free of charge where the host receives no payment
