How did we do? Did we match expectation with actual delivery?

We think so – here are extracts from clients’ feedback from  2019/20  & 2018/2019 winter seasons – copy&paste so if there are spelling issues we have not corrected them …. 🙂

……….. end February 2020 was our last ski trip before Covid shut borders and dealt the world an own goal ……. hoping to add more positive comments when we are able to send people skiing again.

We thoroughly enjoyed the holiday and everything associated with Livigno. As such, we want to do another holiday there this coming December.

We previously did our bookings through a travel agent in Windhoek, and now that we know how everything works, we would like to make the booking to ski and the Livigno accommodation directly with you.

I had an amazing time. So some feedback:

The guys at Hotel Lanz where just super. Special mention to Mihai. So friendly, and nothing was too much trouble. Food was great and there was lots of it. All the arrangements were perfect (obviously SAA was one of those things). Slopes great and ski quality good. My only comment is it is the coldest place I have ever been 🥶. Minus 21 the one night. My goodness. Next time I will pack all my thermals. Thanks for all the assistance. 😊😊😊

We had the most amazing holiday.  We loved the hotel, the village, the snow and the whole atmosphere.  Lisa did a top job.  Although she had to go back to Milan to write an exam, she kept us posted on WhatsApp as to any activities that were happening.  We only rented our skiing outfits and when I took them back on Saturday I felt quite sad.  The holiday was over in a blink.

Thank you for all your help and guidance.  We had no hiccups at all.

Will be in touch when we plan our next skiing trip. 😊👍

We absolutely loved every single bit of our wonderful holiday and were anxious to let you know asap. Lisa was great, she’s a really friendly young lady who kept in touch with the goings on in Livigno. The bus collection went flawlessly and was a far more comfortable ride that I was anticipating. Our accommodation was as expected, basic but spotlessly clean with an also very friendly landlord.

The location of the accommodation couldn’t have been more perfect. We were less than 100m from the ski lifts on the Carasello side of the valley and a short stroll to the major shops, supermarkets, bars and restaurants and most importantly we were 30m from the laundrette !!

The ski hire people were fantastic too, I broke a pole but they just smiled and ignored it !! The slopes were absolutely outstanding, they were immaculately maintained and groomed each night and considering we were skiing on 3 week old snow it was quite an eye opener. The last time I skiied was in Zell am See which is also fantastic, but I’d go back to Livigno again in a heartbeat. We were spoilt rotten with the weather and had 2 full weeks of blue skies and sunshine.

An awesome holiday Thomas, and we thank you for your kind attention and for putting it all together so nicely for us – we will no doubt be in touch again in the near future.

We got back from our Livingo holiday on Sunday – just wanted to let you know what a wonderful holiday we had.  Everything from our transfer, checking into our accommodation, ski hire etc went so smoothly.  Lisa our “link” was great she sent daily things to do.  As for Livingo itself what a wonderful, amazing, gorgeous winter wonderland.  We had the most amazing weather, skiing was superb our B & B was perfect and we loved the position – we had the slopes, supermarkets, restaurants, busses, laundry at our finger tips.  We were well looked after at Baita Cecilia.  Great breakfast, clean rooms.  It truly was a fantastic place.  So much to do whether you are a single, young couple, young family, adult family or retired it does cater for everyone.

Thanks this was an awesome holiday. Lisa was an exceptional host which made our stay pleasant. We ended the trip on a high with snow falling on our last evening there – ticked another bucket list.

We had an absolute blast despite the fact that I can’t ski to save my life.  But Dejan, Marko and Luka took to it instantly and were trying to figure out how to extend the stay or better yet, immigrate to live in the snow!  They’re already planning their next trip and checking out the cost of snowboards etc.  So needless to say, it was an absolutely memorable holiday. I’m so glad I took your advise regarding the chalet by the ski school.  It was so convenient just walking down every morning to the ski school.  Had we been anywhere further, it would have been a mission carrying the gear of the kids and ours.”

We had a great time!  I’ve not ski’d in such warm weather before.  We usually go much earlier in the season so -15 degrees is not unusual.

It was also our first time to Italy – I thought Livigno was very special. Easy to get around (sorted the buses out in our first 10mins there!), easy access to the slopes, loved that the buses are free and so frequent, the trip via Zurich was very easy as well and very pleasant indeed – lovely train trip through the mountain with spectacular views.  On our return we also took in a half day City Highlights tour of Zurich which was great fun.

The chalet was perfect for us so we could do a combo of nights in/out as the mood took us. It all worked!

I asked Trenowyn if he’d be happy to go skiing there again and his response was a resounding ‘yes’.

We are back, and very sad about it. The trip to Livigno was lovely. It is a beautiful town and the skiing was excellent. We had three days of private lessons which I can really recommend. After the second day we could already enjoy the slopes.

 

The accommodation and hospitality exceeded our expectations. Close to shops, restaurants and ski lifts. All in all, we had a wonderful time.

 

If there is one thing we could have been more clear about, it would be the VIP service on arrival. We did not realize that the Livigno Express bus IS the VIP service, and would deliver us to our hotel. So instead we got off at the central stop and waited around a bit before we realized nobody was going to pick us up. It really isn’t an issue because there are many buses around which we could take to almost right next to our hotel. Maybe you could update the wording in the travel docs to clearly state this. But it is really a small thing and did not impact our experience negatively at all.

 

To sum up: Thanks for your help in arranging this trip. It was really enjoyable, and we are already planning on how to repeat as soon as possible.

Hi Thomas

Currently in the UK. Only back on Wednesday morning. I thought the guest house was very pleasant, well positioned & the guy who ran it was a very friendly & helpful guy. The proximity to the nearest ski lift, to bus services and restuarant/shopping options was all great. There were no surprises or unexpected disappointments.

 

Once again THANKS for saving our holiday so I will always remember & appreciate that.

We are safely back home and had a fabulous holiday, thank you! What a beautiful little village.

 

It really was a very smooth and easy process booking in and heading to the slopes (incl ski pass, hire and lessons). The location of Hotel Galli’s Centro was absolutely ideal for ski school and family skiing. We had a lovely cycle one afternoon on e-bikes which we hired, and discovered the Latteria for Gelato!

 

The staff at the hotel were very friendly and the food was generous and tasty.

 

The only slight misunderstanding was whether our return bus ride to Milano would collect us at the hotel or at the bus terminal, we just weren’t sure how to read the Travel voucher. We waited at the bus terminal, where we were collected, but the driver seemed surprised that we were there!

 

Thanks again for assisting us in planning a memorable and fun trip to Italy.

We had the best time – everything ran smoothly and we LOVED the village!  We were able to ski in the  mornings with a great instructor and

Explore in the afternoons.  The Touring hotel was also fabulous – the staff were great especially Lino in the restaurant – he went out of his way

To make everything happen for us.  Transfer on the way in was a little hair raising as the driver went really fast but on the way back Brian, one of the owners, drove us and was a tour guide giving us extra information and interesting facts about the area, with a little stop at Lake Como for Italian

Ice creams.

We are having a terrific time in Livigno. Today was particularly good skiing after a small snow fall yesterday and temp dropping.  Today is a balmy -3 – 0 degrees.

 

I’m attaching a copy of the ski passes we received. Your colleague says you will have to provide a refund on one of the passes. The difference between an adult and a jnr pass.  She may have already sent this to you as she said she would.

We had an amazing trip. Very special family time.

 

Booking through you worked well, making one payment for accommodation, equipment, passes and transfers.

 

The accommodation was great. Well stocked kitchen, good quality crockery, cutlery, utensils,pots, pans etc. Full size fridge/freezer and large dishwasher.

There was a washing machine upstairs, which we loaded ready for a wash, but then discovered that it had no water connections! 🙂

The situation was good. We previously stayed more centrally but found Chalet Rin Star very convenient. Close to a bus stop and we could virtually ski in and out.

Our only downside which is probably out of your hands was the transfer back to Milan being so early on Saturday morning, it left us with a very long wait at Malpensa airport, our flight only left at 21.30 (Emirates). This made the trip home very drawn out and long.

 

Thanks so much with all your help, we are definitely considering a trip again in about 2 years time.

Many thanks for all you did. The trip was fantastic. I definitely think a few lessons learnt for next time. Firstly, its worth every cent to rather fly directly from Durbs to Milan. The alternative was just too far, and too long.

The hotel was fantastic. The location superb, the food wonderful and the staff very helpful.

My only criticism for the trip is in regards to the ski hire. The location of the store is furtherest from anything in relation to our hotel. So you need to mission if there are any changes you need to make during the trip. The store is also specifically geared towards skiers, not snowboarders. Their snowboard and boots selection was sparse.

Everything else was just fantastic. The weather perfect. The slopes magic.

We had the most incredible week in Livigno! The snow was fabulous, the hotel perfect for us all and we loved the night life and atmosphere of the village. our time was fabulous including Venice – that was a real treat!

 

The only slightly negative feedback is that the place where we hired our skis from was quite far from the hotel and it was a mission walking back to the hotel with all our kit that first evening.

The holiday was fabulous as we knew it would be. My son is already plotting his next trip. ? Neither of my children had lessons; they just picked it up. Nicholas (15) went down a black slope (and from the top of the mountain) on his second day of skiing ever; he simply bypassed snow ploughing! Having not skied for 25 years, I was surprised I could also still do it quite well (I didn’t fall) – and Sophia (7) was also a natural but unfortunately she and I came down with bad flu halfway into the trip. There was a bit of panicking before we knew what was wrong with her as she had extremely high temperatures and was vomiting. I arranged with reception for a government doctor to visit her in bed at the hotel to determine what was wrong and he didn’t charge me anything which was really kind. That was a tip I was given by a guest, to ask for a government rather than a private doctor. One of the guests needed 3 stitches and it cost 800 euro at a private facility (but presumably he could nevertheless claim that back).

It was really a lovely week in a nice friendly family hotel situated near the slopes.  The transport worked well and we had a fabulous time.

My only complaint I have with most small hotels in Europe is that I have to go and buy a decent cake of soap and some shampoo at the local supermarket, because they really don’t provide proper soap and shampoo.

The quantity of food however was excessive and really great “family food “!!

We had the most amazing time in Livigno. The hotel was great and well positioned. The snow was plentiful and the skiing was awesome. Thank you for all that you did to make it all happen! The one bit of constructive feedback I have is to suggest that the ski hire shop be in closer proximity to the hotel. It was a very long walk (about 2kms) carrying skis and boots. Other than that everything was fantastic!
