The Bernina Railway is also another popular tourist attraction in the area close to Livigno. The train line begins in Tirano in Italy and heads up to the Bernina Pass and along the Poschaivo valley before making its way into the Engadin valley in Switzerland and reaching the historic alpine tourist resort of St Moritz.

Along its journey are a plethora of spectacular views of Alpine valleys, glaciers, mountains and forests. You also have the opportunity to disembark at many stops along the way to take a closer look at a variety of picturesque locations. The historical Swiss national park and the Italian Stelvio national park both converge in the Livigno area and many tourists come here to enjoy the diverse array of woodland nature trails and activities.

Livigno provides easy access to the nearby popular Swiss resort of St Moritz, which is known to attract a great many tourists to the region. St Moritz is considered to be the birthplace of Alpine tourism and has twice hosted the Olympic Games.
