You’ve just traveled over 10+ hours by plane, hopefully without any crying children or coughing passengers next to you. You’re finally touching down in Italy! But what are your next steps?
First of all, there’s the standard passport control and baggage collection – nothing new here (but fingers crossed your bags are amongst the first to come out). Then our work begins. At Milan Malpensa Terminal 1 Exit 7, you will meet our scheduled coach service arranged for your trip. The 12h00 departure is generally our own coach charter and the 16h00 departure is with Livigno Express. We recommend the 12h00 transfer if you are able to book flights for this time, as it makes the next few steps a lot more enjoyable.
The bus trip takes around 4 hours, during which you can either catch up on sleep if you were unfortunate enough to have been next to that one crying child on the plane, or you can admire the scenic drive to Livigno; maybe google a few good restaurants in the town or update your friends and family back home. Soon enough you’ll be entering the snowy white town of Livigno, flanked either side by great mountain ranges that you’ll soon be skiing down!
Our local representative will now take over and meet you at the coach and arrange for drop off at your accommodation. You can check out your new home for the week, but after dropping your bags, it is important to head to one of the local representative offices in Livigno (the location is provided to you via email). Here you will sign in and then advised where to collect your ski gear at one of our two ski hire stores in the town. It is better to do this in the light of day, as it is easier to navigate around. Keep in mind that the ski hire stores close at 18h30. (If you are only arriving late due to flights, don’t worry, you can still collect your gear in the morning, it just means a little later start on the slopes).
Once you have all your gear, we suggest taking a taxi back to your accommodation to drop your skis, helmets, poles etc in the equipment lockers (its much easier than trying to walk with all that gear!) After this, you can either walk the beautifully lit up pedestrian zone of Livigno, grab a bite or a beer, maybe try some delicious Nutella crepes being sold on the sidewalk, or you can head back to your accommodation for a chilled evening, resting up before your first big ski day! We suggest an early night in preparation for an early morning – nothing beats untouched morning slopes!
If you have already booked with us, all this information will be provided in more detail in a document form closer to departure. Happy traveling!
